For clarity, these tablets are designed to break down with agitation in the wash, not by soaking in still water, even if the water is hot. They also need enough room in the drum to move around. In really full loads, a tablet can get pressed into fabric early on and not dissolve properly.

They generally work best when placed directly into the drum before adding clothes, using warm or hot water, and keeping the load medium-sized so the tablet can tumble freely.
